On August 26th, the LGTBIQ+ Association Colors Sitges Link, a reference in the Garraf region and one of the most prominent entities within FELGTBI+ at the national level, took an important step towards inclusion and equality by signing a collaboration agreement with FUNDACIÓN ONCE and INSERTA EMPLEO. This agreement marks a turning point in the defense of the rights and social well-being of people with disabilities within the LGTBIQ+ community, a segment often invisible in inclusion policies.

Commitment to Real and Effective Equality

The agreement signed with FUNDACIÓN ONCE and INSERTA EMPLEO aims to join efforts to improve the living conditions of people with disabilities who are part of the LGTBIQ+ community. It is an initiative that not only seeks to eliminate multiple discrimination, but also to provide tools and resources that empower these individuals, increasing their self-esteem and recognizing their value as human beings with inherent rights.

An Inclusive and Cross-Cutting Framework

This agreement establishes an ambitious collaboration framework focused on defending the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities and sexual diversity, as well as promoting social well-being. With a cross-cutting and inclusive approach, efforts will be made to create and implement concrete measures encompassing dissemination, visibility, awareness, training, and advice on sexual and gender diversity. Emphasis will also be placed on combating hate crimes and creating jobs adapted to the needs of people with disabilities and sexual diversity.

First Actions: Inclusion of Blind and Deaf People at the ENDIMARIS Festival

Colors Sitges Link and Cinema4you, organizers of the LGTBIQ+ Film Festival ENDIMARIS, are already working to eliminate barriers for blind and deaf people in the fourth edition of the festival, which will take place in Sitges from November 8th to 17th. In this context, the festival’s opening film, Astronauta by David Matamoros, will be subtitled and audio-described to ensure that people with sensory disabilities can fully enjoy the cinematic experience.

With this agreement, Colors Sitges Link strengthens its commitment to a fairer and more equitable society where all people, regardless of their diversity, can fully enjoy their rights and freedoms.
