Many people who started practicing Qi Gong within the LGTBIQ+ Seniors program have asked us about the sessions we held on Wednesdays.

These sessions were co-financed thanks to the support of the Obra Social La Caixa Foundation, aimed at senior members of the LGTBIQ+ community. They were very well received, and many others, not part of the LGTBIQ+ Seniors program, also joined. At that time, the entity made an exception as it was a co-financed program.

However, currently, and until March 2025, we do not have any grants or funding to continue some of the activities aimed at our senior members. With the help of two social integration interns, Edith and Emma, and the volunteer work of Miriam Erazo, our social worker, we continue with the program, but at minimal costs.

This means we cannot cover the cost of the Qi Gong sessions. Therefore, unfortunately, the sessions will become paid, like other workshops such as theater and languages.

Together with the session instructor, José Montero, we have set a monthly fee of 40 €, covering 2 hours of activity per week (16 hours per month).

It is important to clarify that the Qi Gong sessions, led by José Montero, are conducted under his direct supervision and with physical manipulation, distinguishing them from other more general practices.

Starting in March 2025, if we receive the grant again, those over 65 years old who enter the “No More Closets” program will be able to enjoy these sessions for free, while those who do not meet this condition, either due to age or other reasons, will have to pay the corresponding fee.

Our goal is for no one to be excluded. We know how important Qi Gong is for health and well-being, and the community that has been formed is truly special. If you are facing financial difficulties in covering the cost of the activity, please contact CSL via WhatsApp at 609805157 or by email at gentgran@colorssitgeslink.org.
