During the month of Trans* October, we are organizing sexual health days: talks on trans* realities, sexual health, STIs in people with vulvas and penises… The novelty is that we will hold them in Sitges, Canyelles, Sant Pere de Ribes, Olivella, and Cubelles.
In our effort to create a network of collaborations, the associations El Punt R and Rainbow Canyelles are joining these actions, as well as the SAI Garraf network, institutions such as Hospital Sant Camil, and the municipalities mentioned, which have enthusiastically joined.

As part of TRANS* OCTOBER, trans* women’s LGTBI activist Candy Brightman will talk about trans* realities, visibility, the daily challenges faced by trans* women in society, and the importance of inclusion and respect in all areas. She will also cover a wide range of important topics for understanding and supporting the trans* community.
We will explore the differences between biological sex, gender identity, and gender expression, and share personal experiences, including Candy’s inspiring story. We will address the challenges faced by the trans community, such as discrimination in the workplace and education, as well as violence and hate crimes.
We will also discuss health and wellness, covering access to adequate healthcare, mental health, hormone therapies, and genital reconstruction surgeries. We will review rights and legislation, the process of changing name and gender, and anti-discrimination laws.
Representation in the media and popular culture will also be a key topic, as will the importance of gender diversity education in schools and workplaces. We will highlight the relevance of alliances and community support and explore the intersectionality of trans identity with other identities.
Finally, we will look to the future of the trans community, sharing perspectives and hopes for advancing rights and social acceptance. This workshop is an opportunity to learn, share, and build a more inclusive and respectful future.
