We keep working on the Gent Gran Sense Armaris project

From the board and with the invaluable help of Gina Jacas, our social worker, we continue working on the Gent Gran Sense Armaris project that we started a few months ago, thanks to a grant we requested from the La Caixa Foundation, with which we were able to hire Gina after a thorough selection and interviews that we conducted last year.

One of the objectives of Colors Sitges Link and the Board of Directors is to create community through activities and workshops to promote personal well-being, socialization, and self-protection of our LGTBIQ+ collective, and specifically, of the elderly within our community.

That’s why in September 2023, we started the Gent Gran Sense Armaris project aimed at people over 55.

The Gent gran sense armaris project takes place in Sitges. But all interested users from the Garraf region and Catalonia can participate.

And you might wonder, within this project, what are we doing?

In addition to the necessary dissemination and meetings for the project to be known and function, which we are carrying out with the coordinators of other projects of entities and spaces where they attend to the elderly, such as the Sitges Hospital or the Sitges CAP, we already have in progress:

• Social gatherings in walking format, every Monday at 10 in the morning we leave from the Colors headquarters to walk along the Sitges promenade. The idea is to enjoy a privileged environment, do sports, and share some time together.
• We conduct workshops of interest to our participants, we are always open to proposals!
• Cultural encounters (theater outings, film forums…)
• We also offer social assistance and psychological and legal assistance to project participants.
