On November 5, our President in Functions Isidre Roset and our Secretary and coordinator of Gay Sitges Link, Pedro Martín, met with David Martínez, First Lieutenant Mayor, Councilor for Traditions and Festivities, Education and Public Health of the ‘Sitges Town Council and the technical team of these councils.

Gay Sitges Link transferred the related problems that currently exist in the LGTBI community related to sexual health, HIV prevention, sexually transmitted diseases and the use of drugs through the so-called Chemsex. They asked him for his complicity to develop actions from the city council itself, asking for the involvement of the Ministry of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya regarding these issues.

We have also asked that in the secondary school curriculum of our city, activities on sexual diversity and the fight against lgtbifobia and bulling towards children and girls be incorporated. We have also asked that the activity that we develop “Rainbow Route” can be adapted as an educational project in the committee of the Municipal School Council so that the youth of the educational centers know the LGTBI History of our city.

We also moved the request that all the traditional parties could incorporate actions of visibilization and normalization of the LGTBI event.

Gay Sitges Link wants to continue working together with the City Council and all the other entities of Sitges to achieve a better Sitges for all.
