The pandemic caused its cancellation in 2020 and now, two years later, the time has finally come to raise the curtain on the fourth edition of the Sitges Terramar Gardens Festival. A moment long awaited by all that kicked off on Thursday, July 29, with the opening concert of the Barcelona band Manel, who are touring the country’s main stages  as part of their ‘Per La Bona Gent’ tour, the album with which they are number one sales in Spain. The band has also recently released three previously unreleased songs, included on an EP titled  ‘L’Amant Malalta’.

Then, on Friday July 30, Fangoria, the duo formed by Alaska and Nacho Canut, take the baton to present their covers album  ‘Extrapolaciones y Dos Respuestas’ published in 2019, as well as their recent EP entitled Existencialismo Pop with unreleased tracks such as Momentismo Absoluto and Fantasmagoria, coinciding with the commemoration of the release of their debut album Salto Mortal in 1991 .

Saturday July 31st will be Rosario’s turn who returns to the stage to present the new songs from her latest album ‘Te Lo Digo Todo y No te Digo Na’, as well as performing her greatest hits.

The first weekend of the festival will be closed on Sunday, August 1, by God Save The Queen, who has just become the second concert to sell out in advance, joining Antonio Orozco’s concert announced weeks ago. The internationally recognized and prestigious Queen tribute band will revive the legendary Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium in 1985.

On August 2, the singer-songwriter El Barrio, accustomed to filling large stadiums in his massive recitals, makes an exception this summer and chooses Terramar to offer a unique concert in Catalonia in an auditorium format, presenting the songs from his latest album  ‘El Danzar de las Mariposas’ (The Dance of the Butterflies).

On August 3, Sílvia Pérez Cruz will share her artistic project Farsa (impossible genre) with us, accompanied by her full band and the Farsa Circus Band, in a show that she will only be performed in a couple of venues in Catalonia.

On August 4, it will be the turn of the virtuoso violinist Ara Malikian, who with his new intimate show Le Petit Garage, will take us to a sound journey through the music of his life. An ethnic trip in homage to his musical beginnings, such as Mozart or Tchaikovsky, accompanied by the pianist Iván “Melón” Lewis.

On August 5, Amaral, one of the most successful Spanish pop bands of recent decades, brings back their Salto al Color tour with an impressive scenography to tour the main stages of the country and stops at the Jardines de Terramar, where they will play hits like  Sin Ti No Soy Nada and Cómo Hablar.

One day later, on August 6, we will have the chance to see Sopa de Cabra with the tour commemorating the 30th anniversary of his legendary work Ben Endins.

On August 7, Mónica Naranjo with her intimate Puro Minage, accompanied only by a piano, celebrates the 20th anniversary of the release of the album Minage, which marked her consecration.

A day later, on August 8, Sergio Dalma will give a renewed air to his most resounding classics from a new perspective to celebrate three decades on stage with the Gira 30 … y Tanto tour.

The Basque group La Oreja de Van Gogh, the Spanish band that has sold the most albums in the 21st century, will close the fourth edition of the festival on 13 August with the release of their eighth studio album Un Susurro en la Tormenta, which went straight to number one in sales in Spain and a large part of the Latin American market.

The Terramar Gardens, a safe space to enjoy culture in the open air

The measures established by the organization to ensure the safety of the audience, artists and workers, follow the guidelines set by the health authorities. Thus, the capacity has been reduced by 50% compared to previous editions, keeping the same stalls and stands, but only 1,100 seats are on sale for each concert. All seats are pre-assigned at the time of purchase and respecting the safety distance between blocks of tickets. The venue will have signs to remind the public of the mandatory use of masks in the village and the auditorium, the prohibition of drinking, eating or smoking in the auditorium, as well as the frequent use of hydroalcoholic gel. In order to allow a more staggered access to the venue, the doors will open at 7.30 pm, two hours before the start of the auditorium concerts that will begin at 10.00 pm. Also in accordance of the current regulations governing cultural activities, the doors will close at 00:30 hours. The public will be able to return to their places of residence by filling out the self-responsible travel certificate in municipalities with restricted nighttime mobility that the Generalitat of Catalonia makes available to you and that can be downloaded on the festival’s website or in the Confinapp app. Once the personal data has been indicated in the document, tick box 3 which states the return home after attending cultural activities and continuing to carry the concert tickets with you.
