From November 22 to 24, Sitges will host a new edition of Subur Negre, a festival dedicated to crime literature that combines debates, presentations, and cultural activities for fans of the genre. This event not only celebrates crime novels but also reinforces values such as inclusion and diversity in literary narratives.
In this edition, Colors Sitges Link joins the festival after signing a collaboration agreement that highlights the association’s commitment to raising awareness of the LGTBIQ+ community across all social and cultural spheres in the town. Among its initiatives, the Colors Sitges Link reading club, in both Catalan and Spanish, participated as part of the jury for the First Crime and LGTBIQ+ Novel Award, aimed at authentically and respectfully integrating LGTBIQ+ perspectives into the crime genre.
The award will be presented on Sunday, November 24, at 6:00 PM in the Assembly Hall of the Miramar Building, just before the festival’s closing ceremony. This prize not only recognizes an unpublished work that combines the LGTBIQ+ experience with suspense and mystery but also highlights Sitges as a cultural and social reference point.
With this collaboration, Subur Negre and Colors Sitges Link strengthen their commitment to diversity and inclusion, opening up new opportunities for LGTBIQ+ voices to find their space in literary narratives.
