On 30th July we met with the Mayoress of Sitges, Ms. Aurora Carbonell and the councillors of civil rights and culture: Julia Vigó and Xavier Salmeron. They received our  working document and warmly welcomed our ideas to help make Sitges a better place to live and attractive to visit for the LGBT and wider community. We raised various problems and, specifically, the alarm that had been around a series of robberies and attacks with violence in Sitges. We informed the Mayor about the petition initiated by one of our LGBT community asking her to make a public statement about what the authorities are doing to ensure that Sitges is a safe place, without homophobia.

This was a first contact with the municipal authorities and we agreed on the need to work together in the development of the UPS (a Comprehensive Care Service). We have the commitment to hold periodic meetings with the different departments of the council: Health, Culture, Education, Housing, Civil Rights. In the next meetings, the officials of each of the departments will also attend to help achieve our specific goals.
