Master of Ceremonies

Adrián Amaya

Adrián Amaya is a singer, actor, and showman born in Barcelona. He began his professional career in the world of entertainment at the age of fifteen, working for various talent agencies and venues in Barcelona. In 2006, he was mentored by the versatile music hall artist Pierrot.

 

In 2016, he created his first show as a producer, director, and performer, titled "AMAYA: the musical," a tribute to Antonio Amaya.

 

Currently, he is working on the production of his new shows: "Compás," a musical tribute to Bambino, and "Con Garlochí," a collaboration with the iconic figure of rumba and flamenco, who was a muse to Dalí and a businesswoman who owned the "Los Tarantos" nightclub in Barcelona for years, Maruja Garrido.

 

And now, he graces us with his humor and artistry as the master of ceremonies in this Queer Talent final.

The jury

Pablo Wessling

Pablo Wessling is a writer and a popular television personality, known for his work in conducting auditions for the famous national competition, Operación Triunfo, alongside Noemí Galera.

 

This is the second time he collaborates with the Sitges Queer Fest.

 

At the Queer Talent, he will be one of the judges, using his keen eye for talent.

Karin Aguilera

Karin Aguilera is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Frank's White Canvas, a Chilean alternative rock band founded in Santiago in 2014. Their first release was on September 1, 2014, with the publication of their debut EP titled "Intuition."

An activist within the queer community, this year she has come to Sitges Queer Fest directly from her European tour, and we are making the most of it!

Francisca “Pancha” Torés

Francisca is the drummer of the band Frank's White Canvas, a Chilean alternative rock band founded in Santiago in 2014. Their first release was on September 1, 2014, with the publication of their debut EP titled "Intuition."

LA PELOS

"I am a girl with hair. Queer & Queen. Mistress of ceremonies and storyteller," that's how La Pelos defines herself, as an artist, oral storyteller, burlesque cabaret performer, comedy theater actress, Circus AirAcrobatic artist, mistress of ceremonies, and presenter.

 

This year, La Pelos is participating in the Sitges Queer Fest as a judge for the Colors Queer Talent.

 

And she's going to have a tough job.

Actuaciones especiales

YEI FORERO

Colombia (1995).

 

PhD student in contemporary art research, performer with notions of minimalist contemporary dance and textual theatre.


Fuses aspects of Latin and Iberian culture, references from pop dance, symphonic pop and European video dance. He is especially interested in identity, contrasts and creating atmospheres.

 

In the second edition of Colors Queer Talent, she won the first prize.

kevin Calafi

Catalonia 2003 (20 years old). Student of arts and amateur multidisciplinary artist. Identifies as an artist, creator, and queer.

 

Kevin has been dedicating himself to the arts for 12 years, 8 of which he has spent specializing as a Michael Jackson impersonator, and for a little over a year now, he has had his own company: Let's be BAD.

 

Writing, painting, dancing, performing... are some of the artistic facets he works on. In addition to that, his eccentric fashion sense stems from his own designs and passion for fashion.

 

Last year, he won second place in the Colors Queer Talent.

Artistas finalistas Queer Talent

Alexia RIVA

Alexia Riva is a Franco-Mexican singer-songwriter with a warm voice passionate about Pop, Jazz, and Soul music, currently residing in Barcelona.

 

Born in Dunkirk, a small town on the northern coast of France, Alexia Riva was influenced by the songs of her Mexican mother. Growing up bilingual, Alexia primarily sings in English but also in French and Spanish. Her music is inspired by her emotions.

 

She will be joined by Hope to form a duo specifically for the Sitges Queer Fest.

 

MUSCHI

Muschi is a drag artist who embodies her fashion creation with funny and wit.

 

For her performance she will showcase her root from Hong Kong and, now, Barcelona, with a fantasy twist .

Lil Barby

Lil Barby is an urban artist from Sant Feliu de Llobregat known for her eccentric personality and stage performances.

 

In Colors Queer Talent, she will sing and perform a drag act, accompanied by dancers.

FRIEDRIICH

FRIEDRIICH is a queer pop artist from Barcelona who externalizes their emotions in their musical themes and uses their platform as a possible lifeline for the LGTBIQ+ community.

 

Last year, they released their first EP, "Storm in My Head," which was presented at the LGTBI center in Barcelona. They have also had an online presence in magazines like NEO Magazine, and on betevé and L’H Digital television.

 

They have been performing concerts in Spain and South Korea for the past two years. And this year will see the release of new material from their upcoming EP, "I Love Me More," with a more hyperpop sound. This EP will address themes of heartbreak and the complexities of being in a relationship.

POLITIKO

Direct from Madrid, POLITIKO is the LGTBIQ+ activist project of musician Juan Ernesto Artuñedo, who composes and records his own songs and creates his own music videos.

 

In his multimedia live performance, he projects the music videos that he himself creates, accompanied by programmed music and lighting.

 

"Retaguardia Marica" is the song that opens his latest self-titled album and talks about what transmaricabibollesqueer people do on the second line of battle.

 

Do you write, draw, illustrate... educate for diversity?

Hugo Marlo

Singer and actor, 23 years old.


He is a trans* guy and is active in social media activism. Furthermore, he uses music to raise visibility for the community.


He has participated in various television programs such as The Voice, Got Talent, and A2veus. During his transition, his voice changed completely, but he states that his essence remains the same, and he is now happier with his voice.


He comes to demonstrate that trans* guys can continue singing despite the drastic change in their voice in such a short time.

Izan Barba

Izan is 21 years old and is from Sant Andreu de la Barca.

 

His dream has always been to connect with people through the lyrics of his songs and convey emotions.

 

In the talent show, he will perform a rap titled "OYE MI SILENCIO," written and produced entirely by himself.

 

This rap conveys a message that he consider of paramount importance, as it addresses the theme of the LGTBI community, to which he belongs.

Capitano Barbaconyo

According to rumors, Capitano Barbaconyo, the illegitimate child of Madonna and Freddy Mercury, started doing drag in nursery school, trying to pass as a boy, as they didn't identify with the girls in the group.

 

Now, Capitano is a drag king, musician, and migrant producer who has made a name for themselves in Barcelona and the surrounding areas for their music, stand-up comedy, activist message, and high-quality workouts.

 

In the 7 years they've been here, Capitano has been actively involved in activism and aRtivism. They recently released their first music video, "Pionera del pelo", and are about to release their debut album, "Joder poder", which was funded through crowdfunding.

Harry Hancock

Harry Hancock -songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, pianist and accordionist as well as visual artist (and former Latin and Art teacher)- uses his songs and paintings to tell stories and express his love and awe for the natural world of sights and sounds.


Originally from the UK, he trained as an artist in Florence, did his degree in Art History in London, then lived, worked and exhibited in New York for over a decade, before moving to Barcelona in 2017. Travel, cultural immersion and languages are central to his optimistic belief in the future of the world.


Recent projects include Atelier Café BCN (collaborating with professional hair and make-up artist Jimmy Cortès) an imaginary artist collective of 12 artist/musician alter-egos, and Quarantine Portraits, a collection of 40 portraits from around the world painted over Zoom during lockdown.


He now lives on a mountain outside Barcelona and is currently working on his debut album of songs.
