Offering to the Pink Triangle in Sitges, symbolic act of May 17^th

During May 17^th , from 17 to 19 h, in front of the Sitges Pink Triangle Monument, the citizens and organizations of Sitges are invited to “dir la seva” (“have your say”) against LGTBIQ + phobia.

Anyone who wants to “dir la seva” will have the opportunity to do from a floral offering, to read a text, a performance, recite a poem, light a candle, write a message … any personal manifestation in memory of all the people who struggle, die and are discriminated all over the world because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Small flags of countries where any type of expression of a non-hetero-normative sexuality or gender identity is still illegal will be placed in front of the Triangle . We will have information material and protection measures against COVID-19 available for those attending, as well as a Memorial Book against LGTBIQ + phobia to which everyone can express their sentiment.

From 17:00h. Attendees, people who have booked in advance and passers-by will be able to  “dir la seva” in an orderly manner and respecting security measures. The entire event will be broadcast live on social networks and a photographic compilation will also be made. Different participation from members of Sitges entities, members of Colores Sitges Link, representatives of municipal groups, artists, pedestrians etc. are expected

At 18:00h. We expect he visit of the Mayor of Sitges, Aurora Carbonell, who will be received by our president so that she has the opportunity to say a few words.

It will be the Mayor who will give way to the reading of our manifesto against LGTBIQ + phobia by representatives of our diverse community. This manifesto will be read in Catalan, Spanish and English, depending on the reader’s own language at all times, in order to symbolize the diversity of languages ​​and origins of our community. Copies of the manifesto in the three languages ​​will also be given to those attending.
